What to Expect When Meeting with a Phoenix Chiropractor

Advanced Spine can help you prepare for your first Chiropractic Visit

When meeting with a Phoenix chiropractor for the first time, it is helpful to have an idea of what to expect from your visit. Generally speaking, you can expect your visit to consist of three components: consultation, case history and physical examination.

The Consultation

During the consultation part of your visit, you will meet with your Phoenix chiropractor in order to provide a brief synopsis of your symptoms. This will include sharing information such as the duration and frequency of your symptoms, a description of the type of pain you are experiencing, where the pain is occurring and a description of the activities that make your pain feel better or worse, such as sitting, stretching, standing or lifting.

Case History

The chiropractor will then ask you questions to learn more about your history and the nature of the pain. This will include asking you about your family history, your occupational history, your psychosocial history and your past history of treatments, including osteopathic, chiropractic and medical treatments. The chiropractor is also likely to ask you about your dietary habits.

Physical Examination

Finally, your Phoenix chiropractor will perform a physical examination. This might involve using a variety of methods and tools, such as implementing static and motion palpation techniques to determine which segments of the spine are restricted in movement or fixated. Additional diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, may also be conducted.

If you are suffering from acute or chronic pain, contact Advanced Spine & Rehab. We will be happy to perform a full examination in order to develop a holistic treatment plan that will help you to overcome the pain and return to a more fulfilling lifestyle.
